About Us

For the best and safest in quality tree maintenance and removal services make sure you give us a call. We've proudly served the Craven County area for over 50 years. We are a family owned and maintained business since 1963 when we were founded by Earl Temple, Jr., and sold to his son Earl Temple, III in 1995. Our family has had over five generations of family members in the tree/timber industry in Craven County.
 
 
 
 
We help prepare for major storms, hurricanes, and tropical depressions. We also help with post storm cleanup including fallen branches, stump removal, fallen trees, and more.

Our maintenance specialists offer the best in tree removal services. We have years of experience in tree removal, trimming, and stump grinding. We are able to get our portable stump grinder into back yard gates with a minimum width of 36 inches. Lift will fit through 4 foot gate and reach up to 122 feet. With the right equipment, the right experience, and the right technicians you can trust we'll make your home or office landscape look amazing no matter what the occasion.

Here is a time line of our family experience in the tree industry:
1800's – William Gray Temple, Great Great Grandfather (deceased) harvested pine pitch for naval stores.

Early 1900's – 1955 - Temple's Saw Mill & Logging Beaufort was owned and operated by William Guy Temple, Sr., Great Grandfather (deceased).

1939 – Present – Earl Temple, Sr., Grandfather (deceased) owned and operated Temple Logging (now owned by Jack Temple, brother to Earl Temple, Jr.)

1963 – Earl Temple, Jr., Father, started residential/commercial tree business.

August, 9 1991 – A-1 Tree, Inc. was incorporated.

1995 – Business was purchased by Earl Temple, III, Son.

Feb. 2003 – A-1 Tree, Inc. moved to its current location at 3301 Old Cherry Point Road.
